Victorian Solid Silver Vesta Case With Flowers, Birmingham 1898
A detailed Victorian solid sterling silver Vesta case with engravings of flowers on the front and back. The Vesta is a curved cushion shape with rounded edges. There is an empty cartouche space on the bottom right corner. The serrated match striker works well. A round jump ring has been attached so it can be fitted through a chain.
It measures 4cm x 3.6cm x 0.8cm.
It has a full British hallmark on the inside edge for Birmingham 1898.
The maker is WH (probably William Hutchinson).
It weighs 16.8gms (0.5 troy ounce).
The condition good. There are some age related wear and tear and surface markings throughout and there is a small dent on the front in the plain area. Most of the engraving is still very visible, it is a little worn on the edges. It closes and opens well, it gets a little stuck near the hinge but does close up. Please see all of the photographs for condition. Any questions at all please email.
