A beautiful Victorian solid silver unusual vinaigrette. There is a fancy central cartouche with Gothic monogram initials.  It has a superb fluted border and decorated engine turned engraving.  The inside still has the original gilt hinged pierced grill and also the original sponge.

Hallmarked Birmingham 1846.

Maker - W&ET (William & Edward Turnberry).

Dimensions - 3cm x 2cm x 0.7cm.

Weight - 7.8gms (0.25 troy ounce).

The quality and condition is excellent.  The original sponge is still inside as mentioned above.  The hallmarks are clearly readable and it closes up very well.  It's a lovely example and over 175 years old..
