Victorian Solid Silver Vesta Case Oval Shaped, Birmingham 1897

An excellent quality Victorian oval shaped Vesta case which is made in all sterling silver.  There is a floral leaf scroll pattern on both sides.  There is a small space on the front for engraving.  The edges are rounded with a double row beaded border.  The hallmark sits inside on the edge.  The match striker is underneath and works well.

It measures 4cm x 2.5cm x 0.9cm when closed.

Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1897.

The maker mark is worn but possibly J.G.

It weighs 16.1gms (0.5 troy ounce).

The condition of this lovely little Vesta is excellent.  The hinge is secure and it opens/closes well.  There is a slight age related mark on the sides but all engraving is still excellent condition.  Please look at all of the photographs closely.
