Edwardian Solid Silver Small Vesta Case, Birmingham 1906
A fine quality Edwardian sterling silver Vesta case which is small in size. Both sides of the case is beautifully engraved with a floral scroll leaf pattern. On the front there is an empty cartouche which sits diagonally in the centre. It has a rounded edge and a beaded border. There is the usual serrated match striker panel at the underside. A gilt interior is still visible.
It measures 3.8cm x 2.5cm x 0.9cm when closed.
It has a full British hallmark on the inside edge assayed in Birmingham, 1906.
The maker is J.G.
It weighs 15.4gms (0.4 troy ounce).
The condition is very good. It does have a slight dent on both sides but the engraving is still very clear. There are the usual age related markings too. Please do study all of the photographs as they are a true reflection of condition.
